Rededication Weekend 2024
We first broke ground on our multipurpose space back in 2021, which would eventually be our Church home for 2 years of construction of the main Church, I had a sticky note (and eventually an engraved brick) which sat underneath my computer. Written on it was a quote from Psalm 126, which more than once brought me back from the brink of frustration: "Unless the Lord Builds the House, Those Who Build It Labor In Vain"
Those words manifested in ways that I could not possibly list in a short article. I tried to make a list and write down all of the miracles that had to take place for us to get to where we are today, but it soon became overwhelming and I eventually lost count. Everytime we hit a roadblock, after an Akathist to St. Mary Magdalene, or a tear filled supplication to our Lord in the middle of the dust filled expansion, the roadblock would disintegrate before our eyes! It was only when we finally "let go"...to "let the Lord build His House", that we saw His Power manifest itself before our very eyes.
This celebration is not just about giving thanks for what God has given us. It also serves as a reminder. "For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more." (Luke 12:48). Let these days of celebration be a leaping point for our parish community, who have been chosen to bear the fruit of God's Grace in a world that is full of spiritual hunger, and provide Life-Giving Water to a society that finds itself in tremendous thirst.
