"Let us Pray to the Lord":  A Study of the Divine Liturgy and Orthodox Worship

The Divine Liturgy is one of the oldest worship services in all of Christendom.  In fact, St. Basil the Great's Liturgy dates back to the 4th Century!  Throughout the centuries, there have been many stories and miracles that have happened during these services, where heaven and earth literally touch each other!

In this short three lecture study, Fr. Gabriel highlights the meaning behind the Divine Liturgy, and shares some of the well-known miracles associated with celebrating the Holy Mysteries of God!

We begin by examining the origin of the Orthodox Catechumante, the importance of purity in the Divine Services, the significance of the silent prayers of the priest at the Cherubic Hymn, the symbolism behind the Creed, and the climax of the Liturgy at the Anophora.

In the last of our three part lecture on Worship and the Divine Liturgy, Fr. Gabriel discusses the communion of the Saints, the boldness of the prayer "Our Father", the importance of communion, and the origin of one of the most well known hymns in the Orthodox Church.
