I think that sometimes, we fall into this trap of thinking that our faith is a kind of Western Moralism. “Do the Right thing, don’t sin…pray every once in a while…and you will get into heaven.” But there is a depth of our faith and our relationship with God that goes SO MUCH deeper than that.

“We should never get caught in the devil’s trap of believing that we are unable or unworthy of spreading God’s blessings in the world. Setting our minds against the will of God is the first step in hardening our hearts against God’s purpose for us as conduits for His miracles. Even the little bit we have—be it money, time, talent or knowledge—is more than enough to meet the needs of others when we use them for God’s Kingdom. We do not need to be great saints or theologians; all we need is to have the willingness to look on our neighbor with compassion and offer what we have in the name of Christ.”

Always remember, faith is essential, trust is necessary, and confidence in God’s Love for us is non-negotiable, if we are to survive the waves that the fallen world throws at us

“A fish that is alive, always swims against the flow of water…while one that is dead, floats in the water and is carried downstream. A true Christian is one that goes against the current of a sinful age. A false one, is one that is swept away by its swiftness.”

No matter how filthy the image of God in us may become, underneath all the grime is still an icon of the Heavenly Father.
